Webinar: A Look at Montana’s State Employee Health Plan Savings from Reference-Based Pricing

3-4 p.m. (ET) Tuesday, May 4, 2021

Facing rising health care costs and dwindling reserves, Montana’s state employee health plan (SEHP) renegotiated its contracts with the state’s 11 acute care hospitals using Medicare referenced-based pricing in July 2016. This webinar explores the findings of a new independent analysis of the Montana SEHP’s transition to reference-based pricing, which found the state had saved $47.8 million in the two years after its implementation.

Purchasers of health services, including state coverage programs and commercial health plans, may be interested in learning more about these savings from the actuarial experts who conducted the analysis using Montana’s publicly available information.
