As more and more Medicaid beneficiaries receive their health care coverage through managed care, the need for effective education grows. When enrollees have the information they need to navigate the managed care system, they are more likely to use their plan correctly, to see their provider, and to receive a physical examination. Lacking adequate education and information, Medicaid beneficiaries may have difficulty accessing appropriate care and advocating for themselves. This study was designed to identify effective elements of a comprehensive education program. Seven different health care education programs were included.
