Lynn Dierker

Lynn Dierker, RN is a Senior Program Director at the National Academy for State Health Policy (NASHP) with an area of focus related to health information technology (Health IT). Lynn joined NASHP after having served most recently as director for the State level Health Information Exchange Consensus Project, a multi-year initiative sponsored since 2006 by the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC) through a contract with the AHIMA Foundation’s Policy and Applied Research Institute. In the context of federal health care reform and the array of health IT initiatives stemming from HITECH, Lynn leads NASHP efforts to foster innovative approaches and support states in developing digital health information to improve health and health care, working collaboratively across NASHP programs and with NASHP members and state HIT coordinators, Medicaid, and other state and federal partners. Lynn’s background includes over 30 years of diverse experience related to health, health care and health policy that spans direct patient care, public and private health organizations, state government (executive office, public health and Medicaid agencies) and philanthropy. She served as staff to Governor Romer’s Colorado Health Care Reform Initiative and in various capacities to facilitate development of Colorado’s Medicaid and CHIP programs. As Director for Community Initiatives with the Colorado Health Institute, she facilitated the launch of the Colorado Regional Health Information Organization, serving as the first Interim Executive Director. Lynn holds a BA from Drew University in Religious Studies and a BSN from Emory University.
