Kitty Purington, Policy Specialist

Kitty Purington joined NASHP in January 2009. Her work at NASHP has focused on behavioral health issues, Medicaid, and Health Information Technology. She has a background in mental health policy, and was most recently the Director of Government and Regulatory affairs at Community Counseling Center in Portland, Maine. Kitty previously served as the Policy Analyst with the Maine Association of Mental Health Services, and has worked with various state and national organizations on improving behavioral health policy and systems for the past 15 years. Kitty has also practiced as an attorney with a focus on elder law, disability, and health-related issues. She has a J.D. from the University of Maine School of Law, and graduated cum laude with a B.A. in History from the University of Massachusetts, Boston.
