Life circumstances may create unique healthcare needs at different points in the life cycle or for particular individuals or populations. NASHP works with states to connect the many agencies that must work together to effectively and appropriately address the needs of pregnant women, youth in foster care or the juvenile justice system, young children, adolescents, racial and ethnic minority populations, and others. NASHP also focuses on health services, such as mental health and oral health, that are often carved out of public and private insurance programs, and helps states maximize access to these vital benefits.
