How States are Working with Physicians to Improve the Quality of Children’s Health Care

This report examines how state agencies and medical providers are working together to improve the quality of health care for children, particularly for those who are underserved and members of at-risk populations. The paper discusses the roles that states can play in supporting provider efforts to improve the quality of children’s health care, and it offers detailed profiles of five models for doing so: • Learning collaboratives, • Modified learning collaboratives, • Practice-based seminars, • Off-site workshops, and • Models that use technology. The report concludes by summarizing the lessons that states – and their partners – have learned from these efforts.
