The Massachusetts Department of Public Health administers a mandatory reporting system for the reporting of incidents that seriously affect the health and safety of patients in hospitals.

The alerts and advisories, however, are issued by the system administered by the Board of Registration in Medicine's Patient Care Assessment Program.
