Rebecca King is the State Dental Director and Chief of the Oral Health Section and has more than 30 years of service to dental public health in North Carolina. She is responsible for a statewide dental public heath preventive dentistry program for children, including statewide assessment of children’s oral health and collaboration with physicians who provide dental preventive services for high risk infants and toddlers. She directs the NC Dental Public Health Residency program, is board certified in the specialty of Dental Public Health, and currently serves as a President elect of the American Board of Dental Public Health. She is a former president of the American Association of Public Health Dentistry, the Dental Foundation of NC, and the UNC School of Public Health Alumni Association.
