Monica Deignan is the Managed Care Section Chief, Division of Long-Term Care, Office of Family Care at the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. Monica Deignan’s career has included work as a clinical social worker with long term care populations including elders, adults with developmental and physical disabilities and chronic and persistent mental illness. Since 1999 she has been associated with Wisconsin’s effort to redesign the long term care system and extend an entitlement to community based care to all eligible people. At the WI Department of Health Services, she is responsible for programmatic oversight of ten managed care organizations providing health and long term care to over 28,000 Medicaid participants.
