Mark W. Casey, DDS, MPH is the dental director for the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Medical Assistance. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the North Carolina Dental Society and the Raleigh-Wake County Dental Society. He is the current Secretary/Treasurer of the Medicaid/SCHIP Dental Association and also a member of the Oral Health Technical Advisory Group (TAG) which has been formed to assist the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) in oral health policy matters. He recently completed service on the North Carolina Dental Society’s “2008-2009 Strategic Planning Committee.”
Dr. Casey is a 1983 graduate of Duke University, a 1987 graduate of the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry and a 1993 graduate of the University of North Carolina School of Public Health. He holds a Master’s in Public Health in Health Policy and Administration. Dr. Casey completed a General Practice Residency in 1988 at the University of Florida College of Dentistry/Shands Hospital and the Gainesville, Florida Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He worked for 18 years as a clinical dentist in various public health settings on the county, state and federal level.
