Cheryl J. Roberts is the Deputy Director of Programs and Operations for the Department of Medical Assistance Services in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The Department provides Medicaid and CHIP services for over 800,000 clients in the Commonwealth expending $7 billion a year. In her current position, she is responsible for the health care services, program development and implementation, program integrity and operations for the agency. Prior to working with the Department, Ms. Roberts served as the Chief Operations Officer of a Virginia based Medicaid health plan and was the Assistant Vice President of Operations for a large health insurance company in New York City. Ms. Roberts received her Juris Doctorate from Rutgers’s State University of New Jersey Law School. She in an executive committee vice chair for NASHP and also work ARHQ, and CHCS on various health care projects, committees and learning networks.
