Michigan’s PCO and PCA have a Memorandum of Understanding that has evolved into a contracted relationship between the organizations. They have assisted one another with grant writing and reporting, health professional shortage designation, and recruitment and retention of providers at FQHCs, among many other cooperative projects. Additionally, they collaborated with the Medicaid Administration to assure that Medicaid Managed Care plans serving the Detroit area are aware of the services offered by and the benefits of working with FQHCs when serving Medicaid enrollees.
