Collaborating with Health Centers to Leverage HIT for System Improvement

Presented by the National Academy for State Health Policy through a National Cooperative Agreement from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), Bureau of Primary Health Care (BPHC)

This webinar explored ways in which state agencies and Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) can work together to utilize the health information technology (HIT) and health information exchange (HIE) funding opportunities in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) to achieve mutual goals for health system improvements. The webinar offered an overview of the federal opportunities followed by presentations from Massachusetts, Oregon, and Tennessee, highlighting current collaborations, issues for states and FQHCs, and opportunities to leverage these federal investments to achieve the goals of a more effective and efficient health care delivery system. The presentations were followed by Q&A with the audience.
